The station addition is coming along. Currently we are installing the rafters. I'll post some pictures soon.

Branciforte Fire has promoted two more volunteers to the Type 2 Paramedic position. Congratulations to Nick Hanna and Aaron Whiting.

Every year The Branciforte Fire Protection District likes to recognize all of the volunteers at the department with a dinner at the Crows Nest (A special thanks to Chuck Maier for allowing this). Each year a few of the voulunteers are recognized for their outstanding achievements. Below are the volunteers that were recogized for their achievements:

Firefighter Of The Year 2010: Aaron Whiting

Most Drills Attended: Nick Lucchesi

Most Calls Attended: Read Weseman

Most Fill Shifts: Shaine Karleen

Volunteer Type II Paramedics: Shane Vanderveen, Joey Rosenthal, Colin Mitchell, Aaron Kruse

Volunteers promoted to the Lieutenant Position: Cody Griggs, Roel Ruiz, Will Post, Adam Matlock, Joey Rosenthal, Aaron Kruse

First off happy holidays and we hope everyone is having a great start to the new year! Thank you to everybody that has donated to our Station #2 fund. All of your support and contrubutions are a huge help.

The new apparatus bay is coming along. Here's a look at the current progress:

MOVEMBER HAS BEGUN! Approx 20-25 voulunteers, the captains, and yes.... even the chief have shaved off their existing facial hair (if they had any) to begin growing a "Mo" for the month of November to raise money, but most importantly awarness, for prostate and testicular cancer research. Come to The Branciforte Fire Protection Districts fundrains event for Station #2 This Saturday October 23rd. The event starts at 10:00 with a structure protection drill followed by a chili cook-off lunch at 12:00 and a wine bottling party at 1:00. Below is a link to the newsletter that went out. We have officially begun work on the station addition! Currently we are preping the construction site. A special thanks to Jeff Reber and Reber Construction for the HUGE help! Check out the pictures.

We now have our permits to begin construction on our new apparattus bay addition at the fire station. Work has begun and we will be breaking ground by Oct. 9th..... weather permitting. Please contact our Fire Chief to inquire about donations at 831-423-8856. Also if you have any materials for construction or skills that would benifit our project please contact Captain Dan Lipkowitz at the station at 831-423-8856.

The Branciforte Fire Protection District is now an ALS agency! As of today we have the green light to start providing Advanced Life Saving care. As of right now we have one Paramedic that has gone through the accreditation process in Santa Cruz County and is ready to go. Four other Paramedics will be going through the accreditation process and will be ready to go in the next several weeks. Branciforte Fire is the first Volunteer agency in Santa Cruz County to provide ALS care.
